My name is Akshay. I’m a software developer based in Victoria, BC, Canada.
I’ve been writing code professionally for over a decade. I started with C# and .NET, fell in love with Ruby in 2021, and switched to Rails full-time soon after.
I love working with businesses in different domains to build and maintain web applications. It’s not a traditional agency, there’s no team of junior developers, no project managers, no handoffs. When you work with TypeAngle, you work directly with me.
I’ve worked with early-stage startups, growing companies, enterprise teams, and other Rails agencies. I’m comfortable jumping into an existing codebase, figuring things out quickly, and contributing without a long ramp-up. I’ve taken over legacy Rails projects, built new applications from scratch, and everything in between.
I also write a technical blog called Write Software, Well, read by over 25,000 Ruby and Rails developers each month.

These are simple, but I try to hold myself to them:
- Be honest. I’d rather lose a deal than a client’s trust. If I’m not the right fit for your project, I’ll tell you.
- Serve first. If you’re not happy, I don’t want your money. It’s that simple.
