Those Who Can't Do, Teach
Although I don’t think the above quote is true, it’s bothered me ever since I started this blog.
One of my biggest concerns was becoming a talker instead of a doer.
I wanted to have this blog to teach everything I learned as a by-product of working as a full-stack Ruby on Rails developer. Write about challenges encountered at work, things learned while programming, and aha moments captured as part of a software building process.
Not to write about abstract programming concepts in abstract, or write basic, bland, generic tutorials without having the practical experience to back them up.
Everything I’ve written on the blog is about a topic that I encountered during work, or something I didn’t know before that I wanted to explore more and understand in detail.
One of the reasons this blog has found the audience it has built so far, is that I write primarily for myself. I don’t have an end-goal in mind such as to build an audience which I can sell to advertisers, or an audience to whom I can sell products. None of that.
